I am not a horse trainer, and I don’t pretend to give any advice about training a horse. These are only my observations.
Years ago I purchased my Thoroughbred, Kurt: young, hysterical, and completely unbroke, I just knew he was the horse for me. Me, the smallish, mostly-sedentary designer, with about as much professional Equestrian experience as one could hold in a teaspoon. Excellent match.
For some peculiar reason, I decided that I could handle all of this by myself, and that I would do it with the power of a clicker, and the patience – literally – of a Saint. Here, I write about my experience working with my own horse. I make no attempt to draw conclusions. Like life, this is only one grand experiment.
